Published on 7 July 2020, Boyfriend Material is the first book in the London Calling series. It’s a book about homosexuality, describing two gays who went from pretending to be lovers to developing real romance. Dripping with comedy and angst, this book has an obvious certain English charm.
Luc O’Donnell, son of a rock star couple, is a bit of a hot mess and unapologetically grumpy. Because of his parents, Luc has also been vaguely famous. No matter what he does, it may go public, especially those disgraceful things. Therefore, Luc is looking for a perfect boyfriend to help give him the appearance of normalcy, that’s how he meets Oliver Blackwood. Oliver is the complete opposite of Luc. He is an ethical vegetarian who’s also successful in his career, and he has never appeared in any scandal, making him the perfect boyfriend material for Luc. Oliver also needs a boyfriend to accompany him to big events. So, they made a deal to be fake boyfriends, and they’ll break up when their big events are over.
However, as time passes by, the fake relationship between Luc and Oliver starts to feel like a real romance. Though they have nothing in common, the two men begin to develop real feelings for each other. It was clear that both Luc and Olivier were falling head over heels for one another.
